About Pox and Vendetta
We are subversive. Not in the political sense, but rather by pushing at the status quo of human behaviour and interpersonal interactions. We are clowns.
To be clear, we don’t do parties for kids or spread cheer in hospitals for the ill. We exuberantly violate taboos. By humourously turning toward that which we would usually rather avoid, we assist ourselves and others in awakening to the present moment, free ourselves from our automatic reactivity and increase choice about how we really want to be living.
Our interdependence, and therefore our need to be of assistance to one another, helps us face fear, be humble, be compassionate and find friendship.
The magic of clown is about stepping into the unknown without preconceptions about what should be. It loosens us from judgment and opens us to what else might be possible.
We have created both performance pieces and workshops that draw forth the awakened clown within.
Within the comedic container we are all reminded that we are not alone in dealing with fear, loathing, vanity, power and control.
The challenge and the fun are in staying awake for the ride.
